So just seen an email from my CB.

The RFU in response to the overwhelming negative response to the poorly handled announcement of the Tackle Height change is to now consult the game...............well it's the RFU so their version of consultation does not fit the dictionary definition.

So they want ONE person from each Club (I guess Schools, Uni's/Colleges, Match officials & competition organisers don't get an opinion) to attend either a F2F meeting or a Webinar a total of 24 Meetings around the country. Assuming the larger counties send one Club Rep the maximum at any one of these meeting will be about 60. I would guess they will combine some of the smaller CBs say Bucks and Berkshire due to number of Clubs but how the hell is this going to work? I can't get people in the same team to agree to things how will ONE Rep from one Club get across the feelings for all those at their club.

Omnishambles does not do it justice.

Consultation in word only.

They should make a questionnaire available to all interested parties asking pertinent questions such as

If these changes are brought in are you more likely, or less likely to play/watch or be involved in local rugby.

They should ask questions then put a disclaimer.

After consultation, we will do what we planned at a lunch before an Autumn International.
