That seems a very strange move?

If Ryan Burrows is retiring from level 4 rugby, I wonder if he will play lower down.
Poole is a great signing. Can understand why players don't want to do Nat 1 mileage if based in the North.

I hear Burrows is joining Wath-Upon-Dearne RUFC for his final season. Could be where he first started?

Zak could be in for a shock if Sheffield are sent to Nat2East!

That would be an interesting (albeit bizarre) for Sheffield to have to move. Interesting in the sense that, if that did happen, they’d be up against the likes of London Welsh and Esher.
Surely that can’t happen, can it? I’d have thought SKiwifruithorpe would be better candidates to move east but up to now I hadn’t given it much thought. Will have to get the map out.
At what point is this decided?

Anything can happen when the RFU chuck the 42 Nat2 post codes into the computer. If a club was required to go East it certainly wouldn't be Scunny - Sheffield (or Tigers) would be first dibs. Macclesfield, Chester, Newport(Salop) never thought they'd be heading South West (maybe also Lymm for 25/26) but it happened! Usually June when leagues are announced

We already know that when it comes down to Chester and Lymm, Chester are the ones to move (as per 23/24 season).
One thing's for sure, the side that has to go East or West will just have to suck it up as under the current structure there's no other way to do it.
Wouldn't be so bad if the RFU were funding travel...

Two clubs have to go south, or rather not be in the northern most division, as there are 16 "Northern" clubs at level 4 next season.

Can't see how that could be right.

Absolute b******s - who puts this twaddle out? Chester(again) yes - Rossendale absolutely not They could, of course, stop all this tittle-tattle by actually telling us the split at Nat2, seeing as all the leagues below were "declared" last week

Why not increase division size. More matches to watch. Extend the season and use free weeks.

What is not "absolute b******s" is that the Someset Chairman had an email from his league rep which stated that Rossedale were going West.
Glad Sheff Tigers are staying North, quite right too. I understand they kicked up quite a fuss causing the RFU to 'U turn'. I agree with Vade, why not have one more Club in N2N. Gives us all another home match pay day.

Extra club was proposed (and kicked out) when we had the Chester/Lymm debate for 23/24 season. It's still a bit of a dog's dinner and the sooner they make it into the 4 regions at L4 the better

I have heard a whisper about a second side being promoted from Nat1 into the Championship, which would mean another side promoted up from one of the Nat2 leagues, this might have an effect on who goes where I guess.

Surely this is nonsense? We know who the 12 Championship clubs are.

Is this the “whisper” you were talking about TB? A possibility for 2 teams to come up this time next year, if the N1 runners-up can win a playoff against a Champ side?

14 Champ clubs. The only way that would make sense would be if Worcester could not meet the debt repayment schedule agreed, or if another Champ club has financial difficulties to the point they could not fulfil fixtures next year.

This is from the RFU statement on league club placings, which adds to the notion that all is still not yet finalised higher up.
"League Fixtures for the 2025-26 season are being finalised and will be published in due course. Further information around play-off proposals which impact National League Rugby still need to be agreed and finalised. We will provide updates as soon as we hear them."

Tigers stayed in N2N, but from their Facebook page it looks like they were going south but refused to go. How does that work?

It will be interesting to know what Lymm RFC think about this

Depends if it is true or not of course.

My guess would be that Macclesfield requested (demanded) that they are in the North to celebrate their 150 years with other Northern clubs and Lymm being the next nearest club, were forced to move? Chester unfortunately for them were always going to move to West?

I don’t know whether events like 150th anniversaries cut much ice with the powers that be nowadays. It seems more likely to me that, for the group of clubs from Camborne up the A30 and M5, it is easier to get to Chester and Lymm than to Macclesfield.

The real problem is that N1 has very few northern sides which means that there are too many northern sides at N2 level, so in the current configuration means some have to be moved to the South - normally South- west which is were the deficiency is,
