Blues 5-2 Knights My game of the week could go either wayArchers 4-2 Pury Streamed game and should be brilliant to watch Amps 4-1 Pirates At home Amps to take a narrow win by a handful of points Cov 5-2 McQuins Home banker Jersey 5-1 Ravers With a decent Easterly wind down the slope a classic game of two halves Mond 2-5 Ealing A potential banana skin but Ealing will pick a side to do the job

Blues 5 - 1 Knights … Great fixture this, two differing styles. Bedford are just too good at home this season, but expect lots of entertainment. Nottingham 1 - 4 Hartpury … Nottingham have frustrated me this season. They play really good rugby, but keep on falling short. So to guarantee them a win, I have tipped them to lose! Ampthill 4 - 1 Pirates … CP are a side who have not travelled well this season, but they are a good side. This should be a cracking game against a very keen Ampthill side. Coventry 5-0 L Scots … LS have looked better with their imports, but Cov too good at home Jersey 5 - 0 Caldy … Really looking forward to this game. I think that it will be tight, but Jersey will just keep coming at you. Richmond 0-5 Ealing … As much as I would like them to, I just can’t see Ealing slipping up here.

Bedford 5-2 Doncaster. Bedford threw this one away a week or so back. Lessons should have been driven home. Nottingham 1-4 Hartpury. I nearly called this a draw but Hartpury should just edge this. Ampthill 4-1 Pirates. The As form is on the up and they have the capability to reverse the outcome from a few weeks back. Will be close though. Coventry 5-0 L Scottish. I cannot see any other outcome. Jersey 5-0 Caldy. Everyone one bar Jersey supporters want Caldy to get a result here. But the head overpowers the heart and Jersey will be wanting to push Ealing all the way. Richmond 0-5 Ealing. The away side to pull away in the second half.

Normally I would agree with you Cherub, but if Caldy get the better of us on Saturday then I’m sure that the Jersey faithful will be more than happy to join in the party.
A Jersey win is certainly not a given, this lot can play….. just ask Ealing

Blues 1-4 Knights - I suspect a hard fought slog, which seems insane for a Blues match, but it is the slogging time of year. Archers 1-4 Pury - Archers have seemed to fade as the year has went on. Amps 4-1 Pirates - Amps to defend the dell. Cov 5-0 Scottish - Cov have recruited well throughout the year, and should handle this at home easily. Jersey 5-1 Ravers - Could Caldy pull off another upset? My guess is no, not away from home. Mond 2-5 Ealing - Strong Ealing side picked, but concerned about the backrow with some untested folks in there. Still should be able to get through this.

Strong side from Ealing this week, and very happy to see some long term injured players such as Adam Korczyk return. Ealing will need some players to step up in terms of leadership this weekend with neither Shingler nor Smid available due to injury. Surprised not to see Uzokwe in at 7, or any Tizanno at all.

Blues are missing Painter and Knights have Armstrong back so I am not expecting the scrum dominance Blues had in the game 2 weeks. Interesting that knights come with a 6-2 split.
Blues also have had to draft Rory Brand from Sale FC as a replacement scrum half with Garside on the bench for Saints again

HT Blues (3 tries) 22 - 13 (1 try) Knights
Blues go up the slope 2nd half.
Referee made a but of a shocker decision! Blues running in a try and Edgson (former blues) takes out our player high so he gets knocked out and cannot play anymore. Referee can decide, red, lenient yellow, penalty try, penalty 5m out… no Blues scrum 5m out which he awards Knights a penalty.

Blues were pretty creative and were held back by the referee who stopped them from taking about 6 quick taps.
Knights didn’t play as well as 2 weeks ago other than the scrum which must have been a bit 75% penalties for you. Blues however defended the maul very well and then Knight didn’t offer much in open play other than their 3rd which was good through the phases attacking in the 15m channel repeatedly.

Sir was a bit pedantic and did affect the flow at times, but nonetheless the teams really put on a great show. Looking forward to some superb rugby in the weeks to come.

Not sure we will hear from Big Eddie for a while. I think the fantastic Caldy support will be out to enjoy themselves this evening. Look forward to seeing you all back next year.
A great atmosphere today at St Peter and two sides who weren't going to rollover. The scoreline was perhaps a little harsh on Caldy who played well but just couldn't live with the pace that Jersey set. Perhaps the best Jersey performance this season? Looks to be a really interesting run in for the rest of the season.

The Caldy forwards were brilliant and competed all afternoon but Jersey's midfield dominated the game in defense and going forward. I shouldn't be doing this on a Saturday night, but early deadline for local paper (before I go to the Traf) so have my estimated (not audited) stats to hand: zero scrums in 1st half, five in second (3J, 2C, all won by team with put-in). The lineouts were pretty decent too: didn't record Reds losing a single one out of 20ish, Caldy only 1 or 2 (but 1 led to a soft early try)...

![Clap Clap](smileys/smiley32.gif) A very accurate analysis…. the best team we have played this season with a classy, pacy and powerful back line that just bummed Caldy from start to finish. You fully deserved the final score…. Caldy could have squeaked a 4 try bonus point but last ditch defence by Jersey was desperately determined. Just a wonderful performance by the Reds

This is a very competitive league and any side can beat any other on their day. However, I don’t think that the cup interruption helped clubs like Caldy who were on a roll before the break, also beating Bedford. There is no excuse for the RFU

I’m sure that those who were there would agree that BB were really poor when they came to Jersey before Christmas. I don’t know about others, but my view of today’s game was: Jersey were determined not to do an Ealing and succumb to a banana skin. They started quickly and scored almost instantly. Caldy to their credit came straight back and won a PT (perhaps a bit harsh) nevertheless we were square again until Jersey scored with 14 on the field and then again with 13 following another yellow. The rest was inevitable. I would add that Caldy never gave up the fight and deserved their 2nd score on the stroke of HT, despite going in to a deficit of 40-14. The final score doesn’t really matter, but I will add that Jersey were quite superb today. They played at a tempo that I have not seen before and Caldy just couldn’t keep up with the pace of the game. Yes, there are some really tough games to come, but if this is the standard that The Reds have set for themselves, then those attending should be in for a treat.

I'd say that Ealing had a very nice game today. It was excellent to see a lot of players coming back off of long term injuries and contributing straight away. The best part was the absolutely tenacious defense, even when the game was well out of reach. Letting teams score tries at the end of the game was something that Ealing used to do too often, but today they were clinical throughout. In addition, they scored most of their tries through the hands, and not via rolling mauls. A quite attractive game to watch if you were an Ealing fan, of which there were several hundred at the RAG.
