I hope for their sake that Plymouth don't lose any players otherwise they may have to defer to the 7s circuit

Long serving Prop Ralph Appleby leaves DMP to join Blaydon as player coach -

Not announced to date by DMP but I am sure everyone will wish him well 351 games in 14 years.

Should expect a number of front row signings from DMP as Ralph played prop and hooker last year as it seemed to be a difficult season for DMP in front row

Fully agree front5 he has been a great servant to the club we wish him success and all the very best in his new role at Blaydon. he was one of the first players we signed when we started rebuilding the team in 2008 and he has done a sterling job for us over the years. I'll also miss his Mam and Dad who were avid supporters of the club it will be odd not to hear his mam's South African accent shouting "Go Park" on a match day.

The club insist that nothing is confirmed until they announce it.  We got caught out a year or two ago when one of the Armitage clan - can't remember whether it was Zeppo or Gummo - told us he was re-signing only to let us down at the last minute and sign for Plymouth.  So caution is understandable.

Mose announce that Sam Pointon (wing/fly half/scrum half) is staying with the club next season.  This is good news as he'd been voted as Player of the Season by the coaches and supporters, and might have been thought to be under the radar of other clubs.

Dan had a huge impact - ten games at the back end of the season, 92 points. If Ben hadn't got injured against Blackheath in September I really think our season would have been very different. The gap between him being injured and Dan arriving really hurt us.

Wing, former Scotland U20 and 7s international.

Nothing confirmed at Esher yet, although only leaver is Cam Zeiss to Rosslyn Park. He joined us late in the season from Rams but never really fitted in.

We have announced Adam Bullett continuing as captain with Luke Peter’s as vice-captain.

Esher haven't started announcing arrivals yet. Rouse joins a crowded area with 2 of last season's National 2 Team of the Season (Rugby Review Show version) at 6 and 4 and the captain at 5. Retained players at the moment is everyone apart from 3 retirements, 1 to Rosslyn Park and 1 to Australia. All will become clearer in the next two weeks!

Cambridge have started their announcements with the very unsurprising announcement of this season's captain, no I cannot be bothered trying to build up tension, it's George Bretag-Norris.
Apparently 130 games was not enough, so he is back for another season, as we all knew he would be.

As ever, announcements are being drip fed to build excitement.

All are EQP apart from Costa, who is Portuguese.

They will train with the 1st team squad, while playing rugby with Moseley Oak or on loan to other local clubs, with the aim of breaking into the 1st XV match day squad during the season.

They are two exciting and very welcome additions to the squad.

Pascoe is particularly important as we, because Euan McKirdy has left, need a starting-calibre scrum-half. Based on his age and experience, I think Pascoe could give us exactly what is required in that role.

It's also good to see that prop/hooker Carl Guest has re-signed for the 2022/23 season. I hope he can link with Alfie Barron and George Shannon (or another front row combination) for a settled and reliably good unit – both starting and on the bench – for next season.

Mowden have signed the Australian flyhalf https://www.mowdenpark.com/news/mowden-sign-minogue-2715821.html" rel="nofollow - Matt Minogue and re-signed https://www.mowdenpark.com/news/grant-resigns-for-202223-2715751.html" rel="nofollow - Tristan Grant

That's two players (Ali Ledingham and Matt Minogue) who play fly half in two days. With Louie Johnson available as a DR from Newcastle Falcons and possibly/hopefully Warren Seals returning, that's a lot of players for one position.

Matt aka ‘Kylie’ can also play full back and we enjoyed having him at Roth - a favourite with the fans on and off the pitch. Good luck to him.

That's the same as Ali Ledingham – they are both fly halves who are position-versatile.

Minogue's highlights video on YouTube shows a direct, hard running 10 who also has a good kicking game and jackals like an open side flanker.

Very good player. If the national 7s teams were organised he'd be playing for England.

Did you post a while back that Esher have also lost a player who was emigrating to Australia? If so can you tell us who he is?

Darlington Mowden Park have welcomed a trio of Durham University players into the 1st XV squad as preparations continue for the 2022/23 season. Joe Collier (scrum half), Hamish Murray and Michael Carr (both props) have all joined up with Mowden’s pre-season training sessions, and will be available at certain periods around their university commitments.

The trio will continue to train with the club during pre-season and the early part of the season before the Durham programme starts back up in full. Asked about welcoming them into the squad, DMP Director of Rugby Garry Law said: “It's been great having the lads involved so far. Hopefully we can see some availability from them in the early part of the season and at periods throughout. They have integrated very well into the squad and added competition throughout.”

With the recruitment so far DMP could be a surprise package, if the scrum and front row are solid to let their backs go! Who knows they could push Rosslyn Park?

Apparently there are a few more to be announced also - returning players and additional all blacks and a few from north of the border.

Dan has also represented Hungary in both 7’s and 15’s and was one of the leading try scorers in the recent European 7’s Trophy Competition.
