Greetings to my fellow eggchasers.
I was looking for some help and hope that some on here might be able to.
I am looking at doing some groundhopping next season, visiting grounds outside of my area.
I was hoping that people might be able to furnish us with the following information for their respective teams. Nearest station,  Is the ground within walking distance or do you need a bus or taxi, apart from the clubhouse any decent pubs etc.
The information I feel would be useful for those who support teams new to the leagues, or those who like myself just want to watch a game.
Hope some of you will help.

Yes, just want to broaden my horizons so to speak. Work every other Saturday morning so on those days it will be a more local game eg Blackheath,  Westcombe Park, Southend, Westcliff Thurrock etc.

Blackheath

TRAIN

Well Hall is a short walk – under half a mile – from Eltham Station which is served by trains from London and Kent.

Travelling by train from London, Eltham station is:

  • 3 minutes from Kidbrooke
  • 6 minutes from Blackheath
  • 9 minutes from Lewisham
  • 14 minutes from New Cross
  • 19 minutes from London Bridge
  • 23 minutes from Cannon Street
  • 25 minutes from Charing Cross
  • 31 minutes from London Victoria

Travelling from Kent, Eltham Station is:

  • 2 minutes from Falconwood
  • 5 minutes from Welling
  • 8 minutes from Bexleyheath
  • 10 minutes from Barnehurst
  • 17 minutes from Dartford

BUS

Well Hall/Eltham is served by buses from five different routes:

  • 122 from Crystal Palace to Plumstead, via Sydenham, Forest Hill, Honor Oak, Brockley Ladywell, Lewisham, Lee, Eltham and Woolwich
  • 132 from North Greenwich/O2 Arena to Bexleyheath, via Shooters Hill/Sun in the Sands roundabout, Kidbrooke, Eltham, Blackfen and Bexley
  • 161 from North Greenwich to Chislehurst, via Charlton, Woolwich, Eltham and Mottingham

CAR

Well Hall has excellent public transport links and we urge you where possible, to use public transport to come to our home games.

If you are visiting by car, there are good road links from both the A205 South Circular, which serves much of South London, and the A2, which gives easy access to North London via the Blackwall Tunnel, Charlton and Blackheath, as well as from Kent. It is also less than a mile from the A20.

If you do travel by car, please help Club to be a considerate neighbour: by using the onsite car park, rather than leaving cars in nearby streets we keep disturbance to the local community to a minimum.

The car park has capacity for over 100 cars available on a first come, first served basis for a charge of £5 per car, but please be advised that this becomes full quite early so public transport is strongly encouraged.

Try London Scottish (everyone's favourite and a proper Rugby Club) Wink Wink
as London Scottish are tenants at Richmond RFC - you get them also !
(So alternate weeks, one or the other...)
London Welsh are a 5 min walk around the corner and Rosslyn Park a short bus/cab ride also.

Nearest station: Richmond (Mainline and District Line)
Is the ground within walking distance: Yes - 5 mins from station.
Apart from the clubhouse any decent pubs etc. Yes - 'Orange Tree' (opposite station).  'The Sun Inn' (just behind Orange Tree) - Traditionally a 'Richmond' Pub but welcomes all (Even the Scots!) - Great Ale and a real good rugby pub.  For a more picturesque setting try 'The White Cross' on the Thames, a 10 min walk away.
Plenty of places to eat in the local area.

You’ll always be given a warm welcome at Esher Rugby - we’re a few minutes from Hersham Station.

Hersham Station is on the Waterloo - Woking line. Trains leave Waterloo at 20 and 50 minutes past each hour. On leaving the station, turn right under the bridge and our ground is 300 yards on the left.

If you ever venture up to Manchester, catch a train or tram to East Didsbury.
A 15 minute walk will bring you to Burnage Rugby Club (confusingly located in Heaton Mersey, rather than Burnage - we were an Old Boys Club many moons ago and retained the school name [Burnage Grammar/High school] and had a nomadic ground history)
£5 entry to a 1st XV match (Regional 2 North West)

Enjoy your travels
