Predictions:
Nottingham 4 v London Scottish 1 - very close.
Newcastle 5 v Hartpury 0 - Falcons to put on a show for the home fans.
Ealing 1 v Jersey 4 - Jersey to make a statement of intent.
Doncaster 4 v Cornish Pirates 1 - I’ll admit this is more in hope than expectation. Pirates by the sound of it dismantled Ealing last week.
Ampthill 4 v Leeds 1 - Ampthill to win a big game.
Coventry 4 v Bedford 1 - could go either way.

Nottingham 1 v London Scottish 5 - Scottish Burning a trail.
Newcastle 5 v Hartpury 0 - One way traffic.
Ealing 4 v Jersey 1 - Ealing had the hairdryer kicked at them on Sunday.
Doncaster 4 v Cornish Pirates 1 - like DKF a prayer rather than intuition
Ampthill 5 v Leeds 0 - Ampthill to win.
Coventry 5 v Bedford 0 - I don't see anything else happening, much as I would like to see a tight scrap on this one, the Blues are bruised but will soon get back on track.

Nottingham v London Scottish 1 - 4 - Scottish looking a very tough draw suddenly.
Newcastle  v Hartpury 5- 0 - Newcastle to have a get-on-track game.
Ealing v Jersey 1 -4  Ealing won't.
Knights  v Cornish Pirates 1 - 5 - I am hoping that last weekend was a matter of Pirates being phenomenal and not Ealing being rubbish.
Ampthill  v Leeds 4 - 1 - Ampthill to get their first Championship win.
Coventry  v Bedford 5 - 1 - I'd take the over on 60 for this game.

Ealing 5 v Jersey 0 Two strong side with aspiraions but Ealing to click
Doncaster 1 v Cornish Pirates 4 Pirates seems to be the real deal
Ampthill 5 v Yorkshire Carnegie 0 Must win for Amps who are wising up with each game.
Coventry 5 v Bedford  0  Blues struggling and wont have enough form to trouble Cov

Newcastle  v Hartpury 5- 0 - Could be a big score

Knights  v Cornish Pirates 1 - 4  - Hard to call  . . which Pirates team turns up
Ampthill  v Leeds 4 - 1 - Amps first win . . scrappy affair.

Nottingham v London Scottish 4 - 1- Too close to call, so home advantage
Newcastle v Hartpury 5- 0 - One way traffic
Ealing v Jersey 4 - 1 -Battle of the grunt, with Ealing holding out.....just!
Knights v Cornish Pirates 4 - 1 -Another tight one, so home team.
Ampthill v Leeds 5 - 0 - Can only see one result.
Coventry v Bedford 5 - 0 - Usual bias

Nottingham v London Scottish 1 - 4 ... LS the revelation so far this season and I think that they could pip this one. Really good game in prospect.
Newcastle v Hartpury 4 - 0 ... Newcastle to win with a professional performance (in other words boring).
Ealing v Jersey 1 - 4 ... Probably the game of the week. Ealing will want to kick start their season after a poor display against the Pirates and would probably rather this one wasn't against their old foe Jersey. The Reds will want to build on last week's home win (perhaps keeping 15 on the pitch would be a good start!!). This will be tight, but Jersey's defence against Coventry last week was awesome and that is what will grind out the win (fingers crossed).
Knights v Cornish Pirates 4 - 1 ... Another monster game. Too close to call, but I will have to go with Donny mainly due to the distance that the Pirates will need to travel (of course they are used to it), mainly because I can't find any other reason to split them.
Ampthill v Leeds 5 - 0 ... First Championship league win for the newbies. Is this an early relegation game? Probably not as I think that Ampthill have a little more about them than a relegation fight from the start.
Coventry v Bedford 4 - 1 ... And still they keep on coming. Slow start to the season for Bedford and I have to say that I thought that the Coventry attack was quite tame in Jersey last week. Really really close game and I think the home side by a penalty.

Some good games this week. Have a great weekend all and stay safe.

Nottingham4-1 London Scottish - should be a great contest but at home I just favour Notts..
Newcastle  5-0 Hartpury Banker 5 pointer but Hartpury will compete well
Ealing 3-3 Jersey  in my dreams really as Ealing have a brilliant squad so hoping they have an off day - looking forward to seeing an old St Ouens lad turning out for the home team and seeing his brilliant family again
Knights  5-2 Cornish Pirates My match of the weekend - two really good clubs.
Ampthill 2-2 Leeds A low scoring draw although 4-1 either way more likely
Coventry 5-2 Bedford Another match of the weekend candidate but if Cov are likely to be third in the league this season they need to start scoring tries.

Who said that Cov are likely to be third CC?
It's certainly never seemed likely (this season) to me.
As for the attack options, one of the many missing backs makes a return on the bench tomorrow, while another has been confirmed as missing the whole season. Hopefully four more will be returning over the next couple of months though - so maybe that will improve matters?

Probably only me Kimbo and I didn't mean to cause offence if you really think Cov will finish higher than Falcons and Ealing who I think are inked in for the top two places. I genuinely think Ealing & Cov are the most likely clubs to challenge a demoted side in the next few seasons together with Pirates in about 2 or 3 years time. I'm usually wrong about this stuff! Guilty as charged on the Ouzo EM although a weakness for eggs benedict is probably the root cause of the extra 3KG - if I stayed away another week I might end up as a tight head prop! Strictly bread & water in Ealing tomorrow.

Cracking game at Castle Park which was in the balance just after half time when Donny came right back into the game. Pirates regrouped, brought on some fresh legs and finished strongly to bag the 5 points.
Castle Park is a great venue and the people there are amongst the friendliest and most helpful in all our away trips. Good luck to them for the rest of the season - they look a pretty good side and will take a few scalps I reckon.

Thanks for the kind words about the hospitality Stalwart. I agree with you’re summary of the game. I thought Donny could possibly sneak it when it got back to 31-25 but then Pirates took a territorial grip of the game in the last quarter. I think Donny are in a rebuilding phase at the moment and are integrating a lot of new faces into the team and club. This has not been made easy by a long injury list. I think we will have our highs and lows this season but that’s just what happens when you have a changeover in playing personnel. Despite the result I felt there was progress today compared to the home game v Pirates last season. Finally I must say what great supporters Pirates have. You always bring good numbers and vocally back you’re team. Those that follow the Pirates away from home deserve all the credit in the world, the definition of proper rugby supporters. I think Pirates will finish in the top 4 this season, you’ve got a very good squad and coaching team. Good luck v Newcastle next week.

Crazy match at Vallis Way and certainly not one for the purists. In the first half Jersey were truly woeful - picking a pack with essentially 5 specialist loose forwards still requires them to lock out the scrum on their own ball and get the ball down the channel and out. The pack couldn't do it in the first half and a succession of scrum penalties and the unedifying sight of a Jersey pack pushed off their own ball as if their boots were fitted with roller skates rather than studs was a sorry sight. If the Jersey loose head hadn't been subbed he was surely going to be sent to the naughty step but imo he is the best loose head in the club and the problem is probably locking the scum behind him. The Ealing tight head won the man of the match award but honestly he is no more than a decent player and would imo struggle against Sam Lockwood. 33 Nil at half time - it could have been more and Ealing didn't have to get out of second gear to achieve it. Second half Jersey scored SIX TRIES and if the game had run another handful of minutes looked like scoring every time the backs got the ball in their hands - a losing bonus point after that first half so well done to the coaches and players but for goodness sake learn a few lessons before we play Donny & Falcons. Late in the second half Jersey were awarded a free kick in the attacking quarter of the pitch and despite calls to tap and go from the crowd, coaches and outside backs someone asked the referee for a scrum - the subsequent scrum pen to Ealing was the natural consequence. Ealing have some cracking players but six tries conceded in 40 mins says it all as to where their problem lies. Delighted to see an old St Ouens lad score the opening try and have an all round quality match. Brilliant hospitality as always at Ealing - I hope they have a great season and give Falcons a real contest.

Pleased with the improvement in the Blues yesterday and will take an away point at Cov any day, they are a good side. Can’t see where the excessive extra time came from, considering there were no injuries.   However, really enjoyed the day at Cov as always, superb beer selection in the Broomfield Tavern. Ealing on Friday next, so another good measure of improvement to see, hopefully.

The added time came from Bedford's infringing in the last ten minutes while under the cosh on the line. Sir can't stop the game while he's playing constant penalties and dishing out cards.
Not a criticism BTW.

I was scratching my head at half time, wondering how on earth Ealing had been so comprehensively beaten by Pirates last week. I needn’t have worried, it was crystal clear by the final whistle. Jersey put on a fine display of running rugby but Ealing’s defence, particularly in the 12-13-14 channels was truly abysmal. As stated above, much work to be done.

We should actually be able to field a fly half for the first time this season too which will help.

According to T R P Coventry lost the same number of line outs 4 as Bedford. Just in the interests of fairness.

Oh, our lineout was poor-to-shart for much of the game - no argument.
I was referring to the fact that your man was pinged at least twice in good field positions for 'not straight'.

Rejoice in the fact that ‘not straight’ was pinged. On Saturday, on four occasions Pirates were 5 yard in front of the kicker at a restart which the referee saw and decided it was fine.

Well said both. Obviously easy answer Kimbo. He's only 21 still learning, and is used to the slope 😉 He will be spot on for the return games. The restart off side is so annoying. After all there is a white line for the 22 and half way to help, but spotting it in open play seems easier. Surely one of sir's assistants should stand at the appropriate line and do what his title suggests.

Oh chance would be a fine thing! I am unsure of their actual purpose, for what they contribute you could have two school boys running along the line and holding the flag up where the Referee says the line out should take place from as the assistants usually get that wrong too.
