On with Week 3 games Blaydon vs Alnwick Ilkley vs Macclesfield Kirkby Lonsdale vs Carlisle Lymm vs Wirral Morpeth vs Blackburn Rossendale vs Billingham Sandal vs Harrogate The fixtures computer has thrown up a mixed bag this week , some local games, teams that didn't meet last season as they were in different leagues and 3 games of renewed rivalry from recent seasons, let's try and make some sense of these games. Blaydon vs Alnwick should be a typical Northumberland battle with teams that were in different divisions last season, Blaydon will be hurting after tasting defeat at Blackburn yesterday, while Alnwick recorded a narrow win at home to Lymm, think Blaydon may be too strong so HW. Ilkley vs Macclesfield should be a tight game , Macc relegated last season and Ilkley a solid mid table team in this division, just favour Macclesfield this time. Kirkby Lonsdale vs Carlisle another local derby, KL on back of 2 defeats against undefeated Carlisle, suggests a solid away win. Lymm vs Wirral could be a battle to savour, Wirral did the double over Lymm last season so could be an AW. Morpeth vs Blackburn, Morpeth not adjusted to this higher level yet while Blackburn turned Blaydon over last time out, could we see a first win for Morpeth this week? Rossendale vs Billingham , Ross recorded a double last season, could be a battle of the backs who appear to have plenty of pace but Rossendale have a heavy duty pack so fancy a HW here. Sandal vs Harrogate again a fixture where Harrogate recorded a double last season so I'd fancy a repeat AW this season. Didn't see the game Willy but the word on the street today from some of the lads was that some of the referee's decisions were "Interesting ". It was also a Yorkshire Cup game. 2 Penalty trys at scrums to Sandal . Our predictions were not far away. |
