Jersey squad landed 25 minutes early at 9.35am and should be good to go in the early kick off. Howay Jersey give your best lads - hoping for a competitive match with no cards or injuries for either team please and safe journey back tonight with a full house of negative tests on arrival.

I can hardly believe it but Sarries seem to be struggling in the scrum. A close competitive game so far. Gem of a try by Lewington for Sarries - real class. Sar 14-6 Jer

Saracens just scored again, 19 - 6. They have scored off of two very, very marginal penalty calls on the scrum. If I was from Jersey, I think I'd be very cross with Sir at the moment.

Sarries backs look total class - another gorgeous free flowing move and try number 3.

Can't believe the commentary of the Sarries v Jer match. I don't think they know non -Sarries people are watching. I've turned the sound off! Agree with CC; Sarries backs are class. I fear the worst for the second half.

Sarries backs are indeed very impressive. Their forwards however are vulnerable, and putting pressure on them should help keep the ball out of the back's hands. Jersey seemed to contest the breakdown more at the start of the match, thus slowing things down, seemed to get away from that later on, but I'm no expert.

Richmond 0 Cornish Pirates 8. HT
Mond holding Pirates  scrum and nicking ball in the line out but Pirates  look good around the scrum
IMO they deserve their lead
2nd half Pirates have an awful wind  in their favour

Ealing getting ready to kick off. Wind extremely variable this afternoon in Ealing. Scatter downpours that last about two minutes every so often as well.

Me too CPK but I have no complaints on the effort side. Jersey have worked hard particularly in the pack but are being beaten by a better side which has pace and power in the backs.

Ealing 12 (2T) - 0 Ampthill   Ealing dominated the first five minutes, Ampthill then were relentless for 20, then Ealing scored again after very little pressure and a rolling maul.

BONUS POINT TRY PIRATES!! Matt Bolwell goes over for our fourth try of the day. Great step and offload from Kiri Kiri - to Matt who goes over. Conversion by Harry is good and takes the final score to 7-27

Ealing 19 (3T) - 6 Ampthill HT  - Lots of penalties against Ealing helping to keep Ampthill in the match. Simon Linsell is back from an injury at 5, and really not looking on his game, he's committed a couple penalties at the line out and he's missed a few line outs. Wouldn't be surprised to see him substituted at the half.

Ampthill probably have a 2-1 advantage in time of possession, but haven't been able to get any breakthroughs. Ealing will have the substantial, gusty wind in the second half.

Agree Richmond far better than last week and I trust will go on improving. CP had superior penetration in the red zone but had ir far from easy. Richmond should have had two tries, but dropped balls don't score.

Ealing 33 (BP) - 6 Ampthill 63 mins - Fraser Strachan bundles over from short range for the 5th try.

Ealing 40 (BP) - 6 Ampthill 68 mins - Classic Burns dummy and snipe off the back of Ampthill missing touch. Ampthill did manage to stop an Ealing Rolling maul, but couldn't capitalize.

Ealing 47 (BP) - 6 Ampthill 72 mins - Rayn Smid just made a jaw droppingly incredible interception try. Got a fingertip on the ball, it popped in the air, he regathered and stumbled fifteen meters across the line.

Ealing 54 (BP) - 6 Ampthill FT mins - Will Davis crashes over from short range on the day of his 100th cap for Ealing. Referee calls it, once again a bit earlier than expected (clock showing 77 mins). I expect that Ealing will try to run up the scores this year. It will look ugly in some ways, but if we come down to points difference for playoff places later in the season, you wouldn't be able to blame them.

I think the timing we see on our screens this season will be an approximate guide rather than the exact/synchronised clocks we see in televised top-flight games with stadium clocks. Saracens had their own HT/FT 'hooter' at the Stadium by the sound of it, altho' I don't think there's any such thing in the Championship as there's no official time-keeper. It's not an issue when there's 30 points between the sides, as today, let's hope it isn't stress-tested in a tight game...
