Predictions
Hartpury 4 - 1 Coventry - close game, two decent teams
Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Ampthill - At the Mennaye only one winner
Jersey 5 - 0 Nottingham - Finally a proper home game for the Reds and they’ll take full advantage of it.
Richmond 1 - 4 Doncaster - I think today will have taken it’s toll on Donny physically so I expect a close game here.
Saracens 5 - 2 Ealing - Sarries will nick this but Ealing will show how good a side they are. Saracens will be on notice after this match.

Predictions
Hartpury 1 - 4 Coventry - I think Coventry nick this one at the death
Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Ampthill - Ampthill can score on Hartpury, but I think Pirates are another step up too far.
Jersey 5 - 0 Nottingham - The cow bells will be ringing to bring the lads home on this one.
Richmond 4 - 1 Doncaster - I'm going to predict a Sarries hangover on a long away trip for Donny.
Saracens 2 - 5 Ealing - I'm predicting that Farrell picks up a red card for a high tackle, and Sarries then allow Ealing to slip a few late tries through. Much depends on how many of the Ealing first choice are available. Bill Johnston was very good as an injury fill in, but Craig Willis can unlock defenses in a very special way with his ability to kick from hand.

Hartpury 1-5 Coventry. Provided it is a fine sunny day I think this could be another try fest but with Coventry getting the edge.
Cornish Pirates 5-1 Ampthill. It breaks my heart to predict this but Ampthill never throw in the towel so I can see them scoring 4 tries.
Jersey 5-0 Nottingham. An actual home game for Jersey, and this is just not Nottingham's season.
Richmond 4-1 Doncaster. Doncaster have started well but their wins were never emphatic. I can see them losing this one.
Saracens 5-2 Ealing. But I have absolutely no idea really. I would love Ealing to succeed but......

Predictions
Hartpury 4 - 1 Coventry
Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Ampthill - Pirates have an injury crisis in the backs, but hopefully will have enough to do the job.
Jersey 5 - 0 Nottingham
Richmond 1 - 4 Doncaster
Saracens 5 - 2 Ealing - love to see Ealing do this, but Sarries will probably edge it.

'There'll be spectators at the Reds v Nottingham game this w/e'

Great news for the Jersey club and those attending. However I wonder how it will affect those games being streamed. I imagine there has to be a minimum number of paying customers for the clubs not to lose money on the streaming and with most of the home crowd able to now attend I would think it will be tough to get to that required minimum.

This post is clearly made in jest but the disturbing thought is that it would be far from difficult to coach a player to pick up and drive off the back of a ruck or maul leading with their head directly at a fly half rather than targeting his soft shoulder. Ealing are far better than that and although I also hope they beat Sarries I hope both sides keep 15 on the pitch throughout.

Hartpury 5 - 2 Coventry - hard one to call but expect plenty of scores
Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Ampthill - Pirates should take this comfortably, still in with a sniff of the play-off.  Amps don't travel well
Jersey 5 - 0 Nottingham - Notts won't fancy this at all and Reds will put in a show in the sunshine
Richmond 1 - 4 Doncaster - Predictable result against Sarries but Knights will still have enough momentum to put Richmond away
Saracens 5 - 0 Ealing - Want to be wrong -  but Sarries to make a statement, they cannot afford to lose and open up the door for Donny.

Pury 2-2 Coventry Too close to call but 4-1 either way more likely

Pirates 5-0 Amps A must 5 pointer for Pirates

Jersey 5-2 Nottingham I hope TO BE THERE & SEE both teams play out of their skins, score 4 tries each, keep 15 players on the pitch for the full 80 and Jersey win with the last move of the match

Mond 2-5 Doncaster Two well matched teams but Donny need the win

Sarries 3-3  Ealing -Hope I'm wrong as this would essentially kill the league as a contest

I usually get them wrong whatever I predict mate. A few years ago I did correctly predict a 5 point away win for Jersey at Bristol but it was a very rare event.

The first high tackle of the game on Sunday came from.......you guessed it Mr Owen Farrell and it could have easily been a yellow - although I do not believe for one second there was any malice intended. I does like to go high up the chest (Rugby League style)

Would it? It would mean Ealing (33pts if this result came to pass) would almost certainly be uncatchable, but since the league is about finishing in the top two to reach the PO, it could be pretty interesting below that.

Donny might reasonably hope to get a win at Richmond and move to 26pts, with Pirates likely to get max points at home to Amps, that would mean:

2. Donny 26
3. Pirates 25
4. Sarries 23 and a game-in-hand

That would still leave Sarries probably having to win their last 4 games and vulnerable to be knocked out of contention if they were to slip up... so still quite a bit of interest I'd say

Mathematically you are correct but although my poor quality predictions are well known I expect Sarries to win all of their remaining regular season games and with the game in hand potentially pushing them up to 28 points. If Ealing gain no points against Sarries their home match with Donny in May could be really important. Sarries and Ealing have been favourites for the playoffs since all this started but if Donny or Pirates can take one of the places instead that would be brilliant in this corner of St Ouen.

Pressure all on Saracens now though, they have to win. If they don't take a point, after this week Donny might be looking at some easy 5 pointers in their remaining 3 games against opposition with nothing really to play for (Except to condemn Sarries to another year in the Championship, that is..)

Hartpury 1 - 4 Coventry - close game, cov to edge it
Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Ampthill - Pirates to win comfortably
Jersey 5 - 0 Nottingham - Gonna keep on predicting Nottingham to lose each week. Jersey to put on a show for their fans
Richmond 0 - 5 Doncaster - Richmond looked poor on Saturday
Saracens 5 - 0 Ealing - Closer than the 5-0 suggests. Ealing to run them close for 60, but Saracens to win by about 10 and score 4 tries

Me too!!
Am I correct in thinking that this will be the first competitive game played in the British Isles with fans present since the first lockdown?
If so, coming on the back of the Lions pre-tour training announcement, rugby is alive in Jersey!! We just need to take that into our games now.

It seems like an obvious choice to have that first run out with spectators - with a population of just over 100k access to the island can be controlled relatively easily. You can fit 1000 supporters in and maintain decent distance between bubbles. I hope everything works out really well and it continues for you folk.

On a side note: Will the Lions be training at Stade Santander? Using your facilities?

Nearly Brizz - there were a couple of Prem games that had small crowds last Sept before things started to turn back in the wrong direction, and Guernsey had a match against Douglas (IoM) last August. But no other games that I'm aware of = exciting!

Thanks Islander, although I'm not sure that I would class Guernsey - Douglas as competitive
As you say, exciting....and some!

CPK, thanks for your good wishes. This could be seen as a pilot for other games/sports and as you say, it is easier to control being on an island.

Re the Lions, my understanding is that they will do much of their training at the Stade, but there is also a brand new facility being built next to the club called Strive and from what I am told, it will be state of the art...certainly enough to interest Warren G. This should be open next month....really exciting times and frustrating at the same time

Given the paucity of flights coming to and from Jersey at the moment (there are a total of 3 today including the mail plane) I assume Nottingham will arrange a day trip using a Charter from East Midlands. I wonder if they are bringing any supporters and how the match officials are getting here.

Ealing Team against Saracens at 1500 Sunday: I'm very pleased with this line up. Big blows to be missing Alun Walker as he is very solid in the scrum, and the physicality of Bobby De Wee would have been a good counter for Maro. However, I'm thrilled to get back Craig Willis at 10 and Simon Uzokwe at 7 from head injuries, and Kieran Murphy at 6 after his own knock. I'd prefer Will Davis and Harry Casson at 1 and 5 respectively, but there may be some 'game changer' intentions with having them able to come off the bench. The only questionable selection for me is not having another fly half available in case Willis has a wobble. YEEEEALING!

There is a brand new, world class training facility built in the old filed/carpark next to the club house ( http://www.strive.je/services/" rel="nofollow - https://www.strive.je/services/ ), with Altitude Training, Hydrotherapy etc. where I believe the majority of training will be carried out. Plus the wonderous sand dunes of St Ouens ( http://https://www.google.com/maps/@49.1965066,-2.2148279,365m/data=!3m1!1e3" rel="nofollow - http://https://www.google.com/maps/@49.1965066,-2.2148279,365m/data=!3m1!1e3 ) which I get sweaty thinking about walking up.

Field skills will be at Stade Santander and surrounding training pitches.

I think Farrell is a very lucky boy, Mark best got an 8 week ban that was no worse IMO.  Officials appear to wear blinkers when dealing with the big time players, must be star struck.

Gerg_861, Your Ealing back row must be really handy this season or is it a deliberate plan only to use Guy Thompson, ex Wasps, Ex Tigers, late on in games ??  He seems to be permanently on the bench at the start of games........

Come on Jersey........

Well, Rayn Smid is Captain, Uzokwe is very powerful coming from pro14, and Kieran Murphy is a huge load that has great rapport with Rayn and good hands offloading in the middle. Guy is very good, but can be beaten out by these guys.

Interesting article in today's telegraph by Jack Nowell - basically says the amount of red cards is way over the top and the 'accidental collision' seems to have been erased from referee's thoughts.

Watch the video, nothing accidental, tackle position always way too high

Hartpury 5 - 2 Coventry - not too sure but think lots of tries

Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Ampthill - Pirates should take this comfortably but I think now playing for 4th/5th

Jersey 5 - 0 Nottingham - Nottingham were going lose this one without crowd, now Jersey will have the only supporters it will be a cake walk but Jersey not a particularly strong team from what I have viewed on the streaming

Richmond 1 - 4 Doncaster - tough away game but Donny chasing play-off

Saracens 5 - 0 Ealing - Originally thought maybe 4-1 but the teams have swayed it

Simon Uzokwe is a machine.... not only can he play across the back row or hooker...

He is more than capable on either wing amazing speed and feet for a big lad. I would argue was allowed to leave falcons as his style was to expressive and dynamic for the coaches

Simon Uzokwe is very poweful but when Guy Thomas came on against Jersey he showed exceptional skill when he chipped over a defender collected and immediately passed the ball and then followed up in support received the ball back to give the final pass for the try of the game.
They are very different number 7,s and to choose between them is difficult but I imagine the decision is based on the opposition and the style of play Ealing Trailfinders will adopt in their game plan.
It seems to me that in most Championship games that the second half of the game opens up and that is where Guy Thompson will flourish. Simon Uzokwe will get you on the front foot when he carries the ball. Both are outstanding players at this level.

Uzokwe is a huge talent who if he keeps fit will have a great future in the prem. I suspect the real reason why Falcons allowed him to leave is he fills the same shirt as Gary Graham (another Jersey alumni) who is a couple of years older than Uzokwe. In my own pantheon of Jersey back row allumni Tommo (7) is in there with Graham (6) and Haining (8).

Or they've cracked the human cloning problem! One Neil Chivers there's only one Neil Chivers. The East midlands flight is due to land in Jersey in 10 minutes.
