Bury St Edmunds v Canterbury. 4-1 Bury to be in the the top 4 this year Clifton v Barnstaple. 5-0 Clifton to win the league 3-0 pre season link with Bristol as Bristol need them in Nat 1 Esher v Rochford Hundred 5-0 Esher to win this but bigger tests lay ahead Worthing v Guernsey 5-1 Turner Hall and the younger loan guys from Quins to make a difference Henley v O Albanian. 1-4 OAs to nick this on the road Hinckley v Barnes 4-1 Home win Redruth v Leicester Lions 5-0 the other side that will be in the mix at the top Westcliff v Dings Crusaders. 0-5 Westcliff not strong enough now Ford has gone to Bury |

Bury St Edmunds 5 -0 Canterbury - a raucous welcome and nul points awaits the City side I feel Clifton 5-0 Barnstaple - fortune favours the home team Esher 5-0 Rochford Hundred - Esher my bet for champions this season Worthing 0-5 Guernsey not an easy fixture first up, I wouldn’t fancy it! Henley 4-1 O Albanian - tie of the week, will be close but going with Henley Hinckley 1-4 Barnes - no idea what to expect of the home team, young and new Barnes team too, going with my heart Redruth 5-0 Leicester Lions - another great fixture but who would want to travel nearly 300 miles there and back first game up? I had thought there was not going to be a league this year having checked r-m many times. luckily for me i checked one more time and got my guesses in. looks like many of our usual combatants are absent though ?

Guernsey did well at the Rugby Park today against a typically weakened Raiders side. They were well organised, combative, they had a very good set piece and tackled well for 80 mins. They also had (arguably) the best player on the park in their 8 and skipper Horrocks, who i thought was admirable. They had the better of the scrum.....parity in the lineouts and were better at the breakdown as the lighter and quicker side. too early to judge of course, but that has never stopped me  depending on squad depth.....Guernsey may have enough to stay up and might be a handful at home.They look a little weak in midfield....particularly the three quarters and the better sides in this league may cause them big problems as to my lot.....who knows ? we had several good players missing and yet to see what the new coaching team might contribute. hope springs eternal of course

meant to say.......v impressive start by Choppers. not an easy game to get 5pts from ? it has been a while for them to be winners, but they were robbed (IMO) by the early finish..... but look to be maintaining momentum though and might well be conidered favourites to win this league, despite the lack of promotion,....which will be galling for whoever triumphs. v impressive team unit imo Barum and Hinckley might be troubled by their starts.....with the latter looking to do much better than their last journey into the maw of Nat2S. not easy as we saw today. |
