Brighton                5           V            Havant 1

Roll of the dice as both scored 50+ last week so not sure did they beat poor sides or they are good sides, so going wth home advantage

Dorking                5           V            Tring 0

I was impressed with Dorking last week so comfortable home win

North Walsham      5          V            Hertford 1

No idea so going with home advantage

Sevenoaks           1             V            Westcombe Park 5

Away win as they beat a usually strong S&E last week

Sutton & Epsom     5          V            CS Stags 1863 0

Home team to bounce back

Tunbridge Wells      5         V            Sidcup 0

Tunbridge played well last week whereas Sidcup shipped 51pts so home win

Wimbledon             5          V            Maidenhead 0

Wimbledon too strong

Hope it's OK to join. Will do my best to catch up after a whopping score last week on the leaderboard.

Brighton                2           V            Havant 5

Have learnt that Havant should not be underestimated.

Dorking                5           V            Tring 0

As above with Dorking.

North Walsham      1       V            Hertford 4

No idea so going with who I know better

Sevenoaks           2             V            Westcombe Park 5

Could go either way - my heart may be ruling my head though. Should be feisty

Sutton & Epsom     5          V            CS Stags 1863 0

Feel sure certain problems for S & E will have been worked on during the week

Tunbridge Wells      5         V            Sidcup 0

A Royal victory here, in the 2nd Kentish Derby of the day.

Wimbledon             5          V            Maidenhead 0

Wimbledon look like very strong contenders.

Hope the weather stays fine and the games injury free, with plenty of running rugby and tries.

The match between Sutton & Epsom and Civil Service has been cancelled tomorrow because Civil are unable to field a side, the league has awarded Sutton 5 points, hugely disappointing for us, big crowd expected, large lunch booked and a pre match visually impaired game, a positive community interaction that's had to be cancelled, unfortunately a sign of the times and probably won't be the last cancellation of the season.

Brighton                           V            Havant       5-2     No clue so going with home advantage.

Dorking                            V            Tring          5-0     Dorking too good for Tring. May be biased though.

North Walsham                V            Hertford     1-5     Hertford showed some promising signs of what they may be capable of last week- once they rust had been rubbed off at least.

Sevenoaks                        V            Westcombe Park    1-5    For all the good work they did, last week 7Oaks didn't really threaten the line too much. Wish them well this season though, excellent guests.

Sutton & Epsom               V            CS Stags 1863   5-0    whether cancelled or not.

Tunbridge Wells               V            Sidcup      5-0    I just wonder if the Sidcup bubble will burst this season.

Wimbledon                       V            Maidenhead      5-0    Following most of the crowd on this one, but as Maidsboy pointed out, they are a capable team.

Good luck to all

Some more dis-appointing news. I have been reliably informed (unconfirmed officially atm) that Tring RFC have pulled out from the fixture at Dorking, due to a contagion of Hand, Foot and Mouth. Dorking were offered the option of playing the game in October but accepted the 5pt bonus win. A number of Dorking players had holidays booked on the free weekend.
Sad news for Tring as this is a contagious albeit rare viral condition and I wish their affected players well.

Regarding both CS Stags and Tring you have to start by referring to Regulation 13.6.11 (b)

“If the Organising Committee considers that a Club has unjustifiably failed to fulfil its obligations, it shall have regard to Appendix 3 of this Regulation and may deduct League points from that Club and/or order the match to be replayed (provided it has regard to promotion and relegation issues in any relevant League, including the effect on other Clubs, and to the commitments of the Clubs concerned). In ‘Home and Away’ leagues when the first fixture is defaulted by the ‘away’ team the return fixture shall be reversed and take place at the ground of the non-offending Club. For the avoidance of doubt, lack of players or insufficient front row players with Effective Registration whether through injury, illness or because of work or other commitments shall not be deemed to be a justifiable reason for not playing or seeking a postponement of a League Match.”

Hi
Does that mean that both CS and Tring will have to reverse their fixtures to still play away at Sutton and Dorking later this season rather than at home  both Sutton and Dorking  have taken quite a financial toll i would expect with cancelled lunches attendance etc ?

FWIW. Would the outcome have been different if the withdrawal had been for Covid positive tests? I sympathise with Tring as Hand, Foot and Mouth is very contagious (my son had it a few seasons ago) and its very painful and debilitating. More to the point it could have spread to Wimbledon players last week. Can anyone from Tring enlighten us a bit more as to their optimism for future games. Appaarently it is contagious for 10-12 days.
Fortunately Dorking,s lunch will still go ahead as our 2,s and 3,s have home fixtures.Thumbs Up

My leaving this to the 11th hour makes it rather a pointless exercise in the light of events. I would have given Dorking and Sutton and Epsom the win anyway so here are my predictions for what they are worth

Brighton  1 Havant  5
Dorking  5 Tring    0
N Walsham 1 Hertford 4
Sevenoaks  4  W Park  0
Sutton & Epsom 5 CS Stags 0
T Wells 4 Sidcup 0
Wimbledon 4 Maidenhead 1

Just for the record Oaks did score 2 quite decent tries against Hertford!

I do sympathise with Tring, although it appears that other Tring teams are playing today. This season is going to be very different from all others. Covid is a challenge. Player availability is also a challenge. It seems that there is no relegation this season. Would/could Tring have fielded a weakened team and avoided a 5 point deduction if relegation had been in place? The integrity of this league is now in doubt, if teams as early as week 2 can just decide not to appear.

Just for the record, there are no Tring teams playing today, the 3rds played last night, but currently have no  contact with the 1s sqaud during training.

It seems that under Regulation 22.5-6, it grants the LSE RFU discretion on what to do.

5. Non-Fulfilment of Matches: In the event that a match has been postponed, cancelled or abandoned due to Covid-19 related reasons, the relevant provisions within the applicable regulations will apply save that in addition to such provisions, the Organising Committee/Tournament Organiser must be provided with a signed Covid-19 Declaration and such other information, documentation and reports as the Organising Committee/Tournament Organiser may request in order to determine if any sanction is applicable.

6. All Covid-19 related postponements, cancellations, rearrangements, abandonments and non-fulfilled fixtures will be referred to the relevant Organising Committee who will have the power to determine the consequences of such including (without limitation) whether the match should proceed, be reversed, rearranged, replayed or cancelled. In addition, the Organising Committee will have the power, in its absolute Effective as of 1 August 2021 discretion, to determine the further consequences of such non-fulfilment including (without limitation) allocation of points in respect of that match, which club(s) will be permitted to progress to the next stage of any relevant competition, the power to award costs or apply such other sanction as the Organising Committee considers appropriate.

Due diligence would suggest that the LSE RFU would request and require evidence of a positive test to discourage any club from trying to use this as an excuse. Personally I do hope Tring appeal that deduction because clearly that regulation 13.6 was written to discourage clubs crying off because a prop had the sniffles, not for an outbreak of a known contagious disease.

Hi Ancientoak.

I didn't mean to be rude about 7oaks. The view from the balcony was that we gave away 2 quite soft tries by gifting up possession and forgetting how to tackle.

It could of course have been influenced by lunch.  Smile

No problems, Carlos. Felt I couldnt quite let it go unchallenged. We love your club and the welcome we get there and look forward to your return visit to The Paddock when I will try to seek you out and buy you a pint.
My mood has improved considerably after chalking up a W against our local rivals Combe!

I know that. I meant on the foot and mouth thing. Is it confirmed that that was the reason why it got cancelled?

Yes.

To add, there is a process to follow. The League Sec followed this and  the guidance as per the regulations.

Am I correct in saying your starting XV was a lot different from the previous game v Hertford ?
And just in case you ask...................I agree we were well beaten despite the small winning margin. LOL

Westcombe Ranger Saturday must have been a sad day for you as a club member? It certainly was for me (as a former member) to see a group of 18 players, all of whom on good money, perform like that. Please tell us how RL can justify his huge salary and the players their fees? There was no structure, no game plan and when I spoke to one of the coaches he said as much regarding training. I'm pleased to have moved my allegiance to a club who do things for the good of the whole community and not just for the ego of a few!

Sorry Westcombe Park Ranger - bit slow off the mark!
The answer to your question is yes there were 5 changes from our starting XV v Hertford. Its mentioned in our match report. I believe they were largely due to some unavailability/injuries the previous week. Would we have got closer to Hertford? We'll never know. C'est la vie and we move on hoping that CS have sorted their front row problems.
