Cambridge 25 (bp)  Mose 0.  Half time. Mostly driving mauls I think into strong wind.

Chinnor 34-28 Blackheath

A strange game in awful conditions. For 60 minutes Blackheath had one tactic, to lauch Garryowens down the throat of Chinnor's back three. At 29-0 down they instead decided to try something else, and scored four tries to claim an unlikely 2 points from the game.

For anyone interested, attached is a full write-up of the game

Only two of the Cambridge 1st half tries were driving mauls. One was a backs' move and the last came from catching a Moseley overthrow from a defensive line-out, so our hooker could drop over the line, no maul required.

Our fifth came in the second half and was finished by the backs, Mose started to look for miracle moves that did not come off, and only managed to got one back.

Fair play to Cambridge, they looked good in the loss to Cinders last week, and although they out mauled Cinderford in their own backyard, they did look a decent side all over the park

Fatbear the red card was for a shoulder direct into the head of the ball which sparked the scuffles

Thanks Rabbie, I have updated the report.

I didn't see the incident too clearly from where I was standing but from the reactions it was clear something serious had happened. I saw the red card being shown to Lines but the Blackheath twitter feed said a yellow card had been shown to Fleckney, and the Chinnor feed didn't mention it at all !

There was an "Interesting" decision by the referee at Caldy Yesterday mid way through the second half Caldy were winning but DMP came back to score a try to take them to 6 points behind Caldy with the conversion to come, It appeared to be an easy one as they had the wind. However, Caldy Wing saw the kicker had moved and charged, the kicker remained stationary and Caldy's winger ran up and kicked the ball off the tee, much to the bemusement of the DMP player. However the referee agreed with the Caldy p and the try went unconverted. Never seen anything like it before.
