Yet again this is the toughest league to get promotion from . . . maybe just maybe it is looking like Stourbridge's year? I have a feeling Roth will miss out.

A little too early to be making predictions but I believe Roth have not yet reached their peak, and by some way. Roth have yet to put in a full 80 minute performance and seem (just my opinion) to be doing what they need to do to win games. On numerous occasions the opposition has taken a relatively healthy lead ( Sedge, Hull Ionians and also Blaydon spring to mind) to establish a platform, where against weaker teams, the first two teams mentioned would probably expect to win pretty comfortably. Roth came back strongly to win at Ionians and lead at Sedge before being pegged back to 22 all. The soft grounds will be upon us soon which also provide a big advantage with their powerful and significantly experienced pack. As you know, Stourbridge have won every game to date & who knows what would have happened last week. I understand Roth will now play them on consecutive weekend next February by which time we will all have a better idea of who are the likely championship contenders. Next game up for us is a home game against Hull, whose only blemish was a narrow defeat at Stour, so that will be an interesting game. All you can do is prepare for the next game, have a bit of luck with injuries, and leave everything on the line. Any team that beats us will have earned it and there will be no arguments from me. The next thing on the horizon will be the re organisation of the leagues into a more regionalised level, certainly at level 4, whereas I understand level 3 will still be National. With very little money around I am wondering how many clubs will want to make the step up. Part time teams travelling the length and breadth of the country might be a problem for some. Any result wouldn't surprise me at Wharfedale. I am really looking forward to our visit, having trained there when at Boarding school in Skipton in the 80's My spiritual home is Skipton - happy days being bullied by 5th and 6th formers - I think !!!!
