Such very, very sad news. He will be much missed.

Absolutely shocking news, a great player and a polymath . . I loved listening to his analysis and commentary . . . a good man, so sad.

He was a Welshman with a touch of Richard Burton and Dylan Thomas..........a good but not great player but someone whose company was always enjoyable

I met him a few times most recently last September at Caldy RFC

Good enough to win 16 caps for Wales and captain them 6 times in a time when there were far fewer tests played annually.  I think that speaks for itself.

I was a contemporary of his at Cambridge, where he was at Fitzwilliam with Alastair Hignell. At the risk of being self absorbed, this news has come on my 65th birthday.
A sobering thought.
Condolences to all those affected by this sad news.

Always enjoyed his television commentary knowing it came from someone who had played - even though he was Welsh 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
