Looking forward to following this game . There were so many posts from Blues fans following Ealing defeat by the highly motivated and combative Caldy. A Blues poster describing the loss as ' embarrassing' for Ealing. I believe that Caldy away will be dreaded by all clubs in this league in the near future.
Hopefully it will be a good game and the driving maul and open free flowing rugby will be used in equal measure.

Blues going North of Birmingham has me feeling nervous.
Maybe all those years of fruitless trips to White Rose country.

Not sure No 7 understands us Blues folk. We don’t expect to win any away game

I drove past Caldy's ground on Wednesday. From the road it looked in reasonable condition, if "a bit soggy"

Just the greatest, most thrilling most entertaining game of rugby I have seen at Paton Field in the 30+ years I have been watching Caldy. My opinion would be the same if Caldy had lost. The Blues brought their thrilling brand of rugby to Paton Field and it might have prevailed if Caldy hadn't switched tactics midway through the second half to outplay Bedford's backs and score three unanswered trys to overcome a very talented Bedford side
Breathless, brilliant and what rugby is all about, sending the vast majority of a 1,875 crowd home hohazelnut but happy

Going home hohazelnut but happy, what more could you want from a Saturday at the rugby?! But seriously, congrats to the Ravers who are on fire with 5 wins from 6 games. Their only mistake is to make themselves undoubted favourites for their next league outing - at Stade Santander Int’l on Mar 4th. Will many be travelling BE?

Well done to The Ravers, again Who would have thought it? Not many of the Caldy faithful, that's for sure " Forwards win matches " is oft used expression, and Caldy's forwards were magnificent

Massive hat tip to the whole Caldy club
You got this nailed …Bristol away next season?
Not if Twickers has anything to do with it But by then they will all be sacked and we can get back to a proper game with promotion!!

At least No. 7 had something to celebrate today.
Well done Caldy, hope Blues bounce back as the aim has always been top 4.

Great crowd, 1,800 higher than most in the league, well deserved. Not sure why teams fear coming up into the Championship. Is it that big a jump? Ampthill, Jersey, Richmond have all come up and survived easily

Although Donny have been up for some time now they too came up the leagues, as have Ealing. Yes it can be a jump but as you say teams have shown that it is doable and fear shouldn’t be a factor.
------------- Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

Caldy have performed very well over the past two months, 5 wins from last 6 games is impressive.
Interesting to compare our most recent arrivals' record so far (W6/P14) with others over past decade: - 12/13 - Jersey W6/D0/P22 (& finished 11th)
- 13/14 - Ealing W5/D1/P23 (12th)
- 14/15 - Donny 8/1/22 (9th)
- 15/16 - Ealing 6/1/22 (11th)
- 16/17 - Richmond 5/0/20 (10th)
- 17/18 - Hartpury 6/1/22 (10th)
- 18/19 - Cov 9/1/22 (8th)
- 19/20 - Ampthill 8/1/15 (5th)
So while only one promoted side has gone straight back down, very few have been such a long way clear of the bottom by the end of January.

Those are encouraging statistics for Caldy and thank you for compiling them. However, I know that Gareth Davies and his coaching team never look beyond the next game and I am sure that will be their sole focus with the league a priority.
I suspect that they will freshen up the side for the cup matches and include a number of the lads playing so well in the 2nd team. Virtually all of these players are home grown having come through Caldy's minis and juniors and they have enjoyed significant success over the last 4 years winning every game they have played in the Premier division of the North West Leagues.
One of Caldy's 2nd team youngsters Will Robinson has been selected for the Scotland under 20s squad for the six nations Under 20 tournanment with the first fixture against England U 20s this Friday.
Anyway there are another 8 league games to go with some shockingly tough challenges including Jersey, Coventry, Pirates, Ealing and Hartpury all away from the Paton Field Stadium..... ........anything from any of those fixtures will be regarded as a significant bonus

Jersey’s next league game is at home to Caldy. I can’t wait to watch them play. It should be a cracking contest.

I was just trying to point out that Caldy are not to be under estimated. I am sure you agree.....now !. There is no 'embarrassing ' element to any team visiting Paton Field.

I'm not sure it was Bedford who was underestimating them, we rarely win away from home and over the decades have watched them lose to everyone regardless of which division they are in.

One of our intrepid supporters still has to make it back to Bedford. He took the train up and stayed over for a day, but was thwarted on his return by the train strikes. He caught a bus, which was diverted and a replacement also diverted to Manchester Airport. He considered a flight back to Luton but the only ones were tomorrow via either Belfast, Dublin and Malpensa, with costs North of £170. The last message we had was that he was catching a bus to Birmingham, which was 20 mins late; Nothing since. However being an ex prop I am sure he will find a bar for sustenance and make it to the Blues match on Friday.
