I have a horrible feeling that there may be some disruption to this week’s fixtures. Hopefully not, but fair play to those who brave the weather and attend the games that are played.
Any early warnings from any club yet?
Jersey are away at Donny, which must be on the list of ‘concern’?

Hartpury 1 - 5 Bedford

Cornish Pirates 5 - 2 Coventry

Richmond 1 - 4 Nottingham

Doncaster 1 - 5 Jersey (it hurts to say this but the knights form is not great of late)

Caldy 4 - 1 Ampthill

Ealing 5 - 0 London Scottish

Pury 5-2 Blues Two really well matched teams lots of tries but at home Pury to edge it

Pirates 4 - 1 Cov My tie of the round and its streamed so I'm watching this one.

Mond 4 - 1 Archers Tight match but at home Mond to take this one

Donny 3-3 Jersey Always a close game I wish I could be there but any points from this one would be a great result for Jersey so in hope I go for a draw

Ravers 4 - 1 Amps At home Caldy to take this by a handful of points

Ealing 5 - 0 McQuins - Banker

Hartpury 5 - 2 Bedford  - Loads of tries  . . great fun

Cornish Pirates 5 - 2 Coventry  - Home advantage

Richmond 0 - 5 Nottingham  - Mond struggling with injuries and lots of untried combinations

Doncaster 1 - 5 Jersey - Red hitting purple patch

Caldy 5 - 1 Ampthill - This should be a great battle  . . Caldy pack to win the day

Ealing 5 - 0 London Scottish - Hopefully

Hartpury 1 - 5 Bedford  - Bedford on good form.

Cornish Pirates 5 - 2 Coventry  - Home advantage

Richmond 0 - 4 Nottingham  - Mond looked really rough this past week.

Doncaster 4 - 1 Jersey - Donny could do it.

Caldy 5 - 1 Ampthill - Patton field a fortress

Ealing 5 - 0 London Scottish - I don't think that this will be another 100 point affair, but barring more red cards this should be a comfortable Ealing win.

Hartpury 4 - 1 Bedford ... Bedford are on fire at the moment, but I don't think that they will like the conditions, or the trip for that matter. A tight game, but Hartpury to win it in the warmth of the forwards.
Cornish Pirates 4 - 0 Coventry ... If the forecast is correct, this could be a real slog of a game. Cov will not like that one bit. Pirates to chip, chip, chip away and win a hard fought game.
Richmond 4 - 1 Nottingham ... This could be a really good game and have to go for home win.
Doncaster 1 - 4 Jersey ... On a bright, warm day this would be 0-5. A heavy, cold pitch and we could be looking at a 2-2 again! However, I trust those Knights in the know and I think that it will be another close encounter, on a bitterly cold day with decent conditions underfoot. So a very very close away win is what my hear tells me.
Caldy 4 - 1 Ampthill ... Some game this. I would like to think that Caldy will not let last week's mauling get to them and that they will have learnt from the experience. If that is the case, then a really close home win, but with lots of fun, twists and turns....I would go for 5-2 with more favourable weather.
Ealing 5 - 0 London Scottish ... No weather problems here. Actually, no problem at all. ET to increase their lead in the league I feel.

Hartpury 5-2 Bedford. Bedford are currently the form team, but they do not travel well and play their best in front of a large crowd.
Pirates 5-0 Coventry. This is one of those 26-18 games with one team scoring four and the other only three and losing by more than 7 points.
Richmond 0-4 Nottingham. Richmond are very inconsistent whilst Nottingham is never an easy fixture.
Doncaster 1-4 Jersey. A right royal battle in possibly wet conditions with Jersey being more the form team.
Caldy 3-3 Ampthill. I really cannot separate the two teams.
Ealing 5-0 L Scottish. Probably a 50 point or more win.

Predictions:
Hartpury 4 v 1 Bedford - Blues away from home are not the same team and Hartpury are in good form themselves
Cornish Pirates 4 v 1 Coventry - I just think Pirates will adjust to the probably challenging conditions the better.
Richmond 2 v 5 Nottingham - neither team can buy a win at present but just think Nottingham are slightly better. Both teams will have targeted this game so I expect a high scoring encounter.
Doncaster 0 v 4 Jersey - Donny have not been in any sort of form for what seems like an age. The games against the top 3/4 teams have not been good to us this year either. I don’t like going against the Knights at home but I expect the Reds to win this. Low scoring game in prospect.
Caldy 4 v 1 Ampthill - Honestly I have no idea. Last week was an aberration for both teams but just edging towards Caldy.
Ealing 5 v 0 London Scottish - due to the “hired help “ I don’t see this being a total annihilation but I expect a very comfortable home win nonetheless. Ealing by 30+

It doesn't 'look that way' CPK, it's confirmed as off!

From what we heard/saw (via pics) this AM there's a covering of snow and while pitch may be playable today, the forecast for tonight indicates it'll be a fair way below freezing and may not warm up too rapidly tomorrow in build-up to KO. Reds' flight was at 1350 today and it would have been quite a big risk to adopt a 'fingers crossed' approach, given the circumstances

I know that the temperature was never going to be a problem, just the wind and rain (we have been battered over the past 12 hours or so), but if the heavy rain forecast earlier in the week doesn’t turn up, then that makes for a cracking contest. Enjoy all.

I can only assume that the Donny game has been called off due to Jersey’s travel difficulties because I live 3 miles from the ground and there is no snow to be seen. We’re expecting a hard frost tonight though, temperatures could be -7. That maybe played a part. I can’t remember the last time a game at Donny was called off due to the weather, it’s been quite a while I would guess.

Certainly no snow in Jersey, but we have enjoyed some very strong winds. Gusts in excess of 80mph over night and this morning.
I think an accumulation of things has sadly led to the postponement

I believe there is a protocol on this issue which involves someone assessing the ground AND THE PRACTICALITY of the away team getting there. I know Jersey had arranged to fly early afternoon today and so it seems eminently sensible that a decision was taken before they left.

Fully agree mate the commentators would do their job better if they actually watched the game. They even missed the high shot on that try early on and it was so obvious it nearly took the lads head off! The stream is improved with the sound off and BBC Radio Cornwell commentary.  Having said all that Cov are playing really well and I am happy to pay £7 to see rugby of that quality.

Cracking game at The Mennaye. Cov blasted out of the blocks and were totally dominant for the first 25 minutes, great offloading and lines of running that had The Pirates chasing shadows. Pirates managed a try in one of their very few visits to Cov's 22 but at 7-26 it looked like a walk in the park for Cov. Pirates snatched another try before half time and must have been relieved to be just 12 points down at the break. For the first five minutes of the second half Cov looked odds on to extend their lead, but dogged defence and a couple of handling errors cost them dear. Pirates seemed to flick a switch and suddenly started to put some phases together and stretch the Cov defence - then the game turned on it's head and Pirates were rampant. Once they got into the lead they weren't going to relinquish it and ran out deserved winners. What a game!

Hartpury was in the South West Division when such things mattered, but so was Windsor.
Caldy is officially in the Northern Division.
But ask any two Englishmen where the North starts, and you will get three answers.

Caldy is officially in the Northern Division.
But ask any two Englishmen where the North starts, and you will get three answers.

I think you mean. The North Circular

CP vs Cov tries.
At least the first one shouldn't offend Bedford fans. LOLWink

Yes, no idea why a simple copy and paste didn't work when it usually does. Ah well.

Indeed, do they still adopt that approach and is Graham Dawe still playing in his 60s probably now? Wink

Donny v Reds, rearranged - Sat Apr 8th, k-o 1pm

So only the two te-arranged games this weekend.
Donny 1 - 5 Jersey … Donny have been playing well of late and The Reds will need to be at their very best to come away with the victory that they need. Ultimately, I think that they cancel each other out up front, but Jersey’s backs and defense has been very good this season, so this is where the game will be won or lost IMHO.
Ampthill 1 - 5 Coventry … This should be an absolute belter. The Mob are playing great rugby this season as are Cov. Home advantage will make this a close affair, but the visitors to all hit guarantee third spot.

Have a great Easter everyone

Round 16? Cov were at Penzance that week. Surely these ties merit a thread of their own?
