So only the two te-arranged games this weekend.
Donny 1 - 5 Jersey … Donny have been playing well of late and The Reds will need to be at their very best to come away with the victory that they need. Ultimately, I think that they cancel each other out up front, but Jersey’s backs and defense has been very good this season, so this is where the game will be won or lost IMHO.
Ampthill 1 - 5 Coventry … This should be an absolute belter. The Mob are playing great rugby this season as are Cov. Home advantage will make this a close affair, but the visitors to all hit guarantee third spot.

Have a great Easter everyone

Brizzer really I think they will both be 4-1 either way but I'm usually wrong.

My earlier post repeated the Brizmeister's predictions so for my own account:
Donny 1-4 Jersey - Could go either way. Jersey were really lucky to just win the reverse fixture so hoping they can keep the run going. Any points at away at CP is a great result. Is there any radio commentary? As Jersey are probably rushing back that night I'll ask one of the lads to smuggle a wedge of pie for me.
Amps 4-1 Cov - Again could go either way but home advantage to just swing it for the Mob by a handful of points.

Latest indication from BBC Jersey about Reds v Donny is that there'll be updates during the first half and then full commentary on the second. The 1pm KO was agreed to the visiting team can get back that evening from East Mids...

Slightly worried that the pre-match scoff is 'brunch' - but am reasonably confident there'll be some pie with my name on at some point during the afternoon.

Doncaster 1-5 Jersey. I think this is the better option to watch off the two games today with Jersey continuing their efforts to keep pressure on Ealing.
Ampthill 4-1 Coventry. My prediction is based on history. Ampthill win at Ampthill and Coventry win at Coventry. This game could be decided by which side kick their conversions, and with both teams on a roll, it should be close.

Doncaster 1 - 5 Jersey I am hopeful of getting something out of the game but not optimistic
Ampthill 1 - 5 Coventry I think Cov will just have too much, but Ampthill to make them earn it

There is a massive amount of competition for places at the moment as some long term absentees are returning from injury. That puts pressure (hopefully in a positive way) on those in the 23. If you don’t perform, there is a queue of players wanting your shirt.

It would be great to have a queue of players lining up for a starting berth at Donny. Our squad is small and we are experiencing the worst injury list experienced for years (as long as I can recall) - numerous players out for 3/4 months minimum. This year is all about getting through, then hope next year is injury free.

The Donny starting Tight Head must be a cracking player to keep Jake Armstrong on the bench. The contest between Grahamslaw & Armstrong would be worth the admission money on its own.

I can assure you Jake is an absolute legend in Jersey and the real surprise is that you don't start with him. Grahamslaw on the Jersey loose head is seriously big so I would have loved to see him pack down against Jake.

GNR Senitiki Nayalo appeared for the Army against Bedford Blues in the Mobbs Memorial fixture at Goldington Road on Thursday night Kimbo, scoring the opening try for the Army.  As regards Pete White, Pete was at the BPA last Friday for the Hartpury game and said he wouldn’t be playing this weekend as he was injured.
Hope this helps.

Next season is shaping up well. I expect Ealing and Jersey to compete again, but Cov and Bedford are looking good this season and will be in the mix next. Pirates have been rebuilding and will be better next season as will Donny. The other teams in the league are all very capable of beating any side on their day …. Caldy against Ealing for instance. Already looking forward to September!!

Today Jersey showed why they are the second best team in the league. The Reds were excellent for the whole 80 minutes. They had a really big but mobile pack and the offloading and the angles of running in the back line were  fantastic. I actually don’t think Donny played badly, our performance today was better than in some of our wins at home this season. We just came up against a great team who are playing with a lot of confidence. That was easily the best Reds team I’ve seen at Castle Park.

I can't agree that the Reds were excellent for 80 mins. The 1st 45 seconds weren't great, 7-0, but more seriously/significantly the period either side of half-time was loose and ill-disciplined from the visitors, a man went to the bin & and it looked like we might allow the Knights to take the lead. The lead was just 4 pts for 15 mins and the Knights were giving it a good crack - fair play to them.

Very strong last quarter from the Reds tho', while home heads went down...

From what I heard on the radio that is just about spot on Islander (you sounded great as always). For me the difference came off of the bench and Jersey were able to turn the screw which broke some seriously spirited resistance by the Knights.

One of Jersey's very best supporters posted on Twitter "Could have gone either way at one point," and I would never expect anything else against a very strong and committed Knights side run by Bodes. I have no doubt they will make Ealing work just as hard at the end of April. Bedford away next and if Jersey climb that hill the best squad in the league at home the week after in front of a raucous board thumping bell ring crowd - it doesn't get any easier but what a brilliant league this season. Howay Jersey proud of you lads.

Ominous for us at GR next week.  I still remember the tanking we received on the Island in the freezing cold of December.  Looks like the pre match lunch is going to be the most enjoyable part; but just maybe if… 🙏🏻

I think that we are all expecting a completely different Blues performance next week to the one that we saw in December Cricks. The team are very aware of the serious threat that Bedford pose, especially at home and will be prepared accordingly. Nothing will be taken for granted and I’m expecting an absolute belter of a game.
