Despite playing one less game in the Cup, 5 in the pools, and 22 in the league , the Championship clubs are scheduled to start on 9th September and finish on 25th May, with those clubs involved in the play off playing on the 1st and 8th June. in the season there are 10 blank or reserve Saturdays including one on 14th October , I presume in case of snow in September?. The league starts on the 21st October. I presume that this will be for one season only to accommodate the world cup.

Why are they stretching the season?
I partly imagine rest weekend during six nations, when we should be playing the cup.

The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

The Oct 14 rest is presumably because all our internationals could be resting from the World Cup.
Or is it, so we can watch England lose in the RWC QF.

The play-offs cannot happen until the Premiership sides complete their season - and they have the European matches to fit in.

Why do the playoffs need to wait until the end of the Premiership season will the bottom two premiership sides play the top two Championship sides for promotion / relegation? When was the decision made to have play off semi / final agreed?

Was the play off reference not relating to the Prem Cup (semi- final / final)? That is how I read it - the other option is more exciting though

I have not seen the document, but I thought there was a play off between the top of the Championship and the foot of the Premiership. Or have I got that wrong?
