Good afternoon all

It’s been 10 seasons since I last contributed to this level. Looking forward to it again today. If you could please post your updates from the game you’re out it will be much appreciated.

It’s Mond at a very sunny Park Lane today. Should be a cracker.

Have a great game all and stay injury free.

For those interested here is the online programme for todays game

Sedge 10 Mond 21 halftime

It would be very crass of me not to mention and point out  the dominance Richmond had in this first half which was played mainly  in Sedges half.

Sedge had moments and our try was well with it. It’s a very hot day and fitness levels will play a major part in the final outcome.

Not sure how much the defensive efforts will have an impact on Sedge in the second forty, but the good news is we are playing down hill. Tactical changes will come into play one hopes.

Excellent first half from Mond. Let’s hope we contain them in the second forty

All the best

Thanks ST. I didn't feel well enough to attend, but from 7-21 down, to pick up a couple of BPs sounds like a good effort. And we're ahead of Sale!

Sedge 32 (5) Mond  31 (2) Fulltime

WOW well deserved Sedge

If the first half was all Mond the second half was all Sedge. Mond struggled with the quick inter change play as Sedge opened up a very well organised Mond defence.

With the game going into the last quarter a kick to the corner by Mond saw Sedge second row off on a yellow card. Mond didn’t need a second invitation to take advantage and they did with a well worked try.

The next try was a very controversial one as it went to Mond. It’s difficult for referees at the best of times but Mond dropped rather dotted down and were awarded the try. That would have been harsh had that been the last and winning try, especially in the first half we went over but the effort was overturned due to the lack of downward pressure.

However Sedge like to dig in and run the ball and boy they did with a whirlwind last 7 minutes. A try and a last kick of the game penalty saw the points and glory stay in Whitefield.

Great effort by both clubs great game of rugby

A great at Park Lane and a safe journey home to our guests.

Good evening all enjoy it. I will😂😂

All the best

A lot of tries run in around the league today, well done all.

Especially well done to Lions in their first game in Nat 1, beating Sale is no mean feat at the best of times. And very well done Sedgely Park, downing Richmond is equally impressive, Warren Seals the perfect kicker for a last minute pen to take the win!

Good to be up and running, looking forward to round 2 already!

Well looking at the scores today the league could be very tight, and if they are anything to go by it’s anyone’s guess where teams finish

A very interesting first round with many surprises- who would have thought that Leicester Lions would have beaten Sale  - also a shock defeat for Richmond which sets up a juicy local derby next weekend against Rosslyn Park who just edged out Plymouth in a high scoring match on the plastic

I thought the Lions would win, they will be tough at home, no idea how most of the away games will go as the club has never played at some of the grounds. At the end of the day, we need to keep players fit and play with discipline and who knows what might happen, the joy of sport.

A report on today's match between Chinnor and DMP.

The final score was perhaps a little harsh on DMP, who probably deserved something from the game, although Chinnor were deserved winners in the end.

In truth, it wasn't a great game. Both sides were regularly penalised, and in addition, the count for high tackles was high. In-between there were glimpses of entertaining, running rugby from both sides, but it was mostly stop-start. As it was quite hot today, both sets of forwards may have appreciated that !

Me for one. They were very impressive a couple of weeks ago against, an admittedly mixed, Cov.
Dan Lewis must be happy with his move.

Thanks Fatbear I think the game showed two good attacking teams both of whom may have the smallest packs in league bar Chinnors second row whom is an absolute man mountain!

It was interesting to see Morgan Passman at 13 a fantastic player but I did feel sorry for any player on the outside of him. However Chinnor have a great player there who would be premiership if not for bad luck with injuries
