Good morning all

A lovely morning here in Manchester awaiting the visit of Rams for their first time. Should be a cracker of a game.

KO is as seven has stated 14-30.

For those interested there is a link below to our match day programme. Not as good as the Rams pre match review excellent stuff indeed. ( thatโ€™s also on a link) and finally our First XV line up.

Have a great day all enjoy your rugby and stay injury free.

Jester 10

I understand that now but the team sheet I believe was supplied by your club.

Thanks for the correction though. Are you at the game today?

Thanks ST.

I think Baker would fancy himself a loose forward on his day, he has a proven sidestep in him!

Just had a read through the SP match programme for today and I must say it's very good. Not sure I've seen such a detailed and knowledgeable set of notes and articles not just from their club but from around the league as a whole. Well done.

Enjoy the game

The Rosslyn Park members are just finishing their port and cheese and biscuits - the umpires are out on the plastic  pitch which is taking spin - lots of A380 aircraft overhead which is very disturbing for the Birmingham players

Sedge 6 Rams 17.

Great display from Rams defence Premiership quality. Sedge have huffed and puffed had loads of possession and territory but cannot break a very good defensive line. Exceptional from the visitors.

Rams first try was exceptional back play. Worth the admission price alone for that. The second try which saw Tigers number 8 yellow carded followed a period of Rams forward dominance at the Sedges line. Something had to give it did converted second try.

Into the last 10 minutes of the half Sedge down to 14 took the game back to Rams. The Rams wall didnโ€™t flinch.

Sedge 6 Rams 17 Halftime. Well played Rams

Sedge 20 (0) Rams 41 (5)Fulltime

No complaints today beaten by a very good Rams outfit. Highly organised in defence (the best Iโ€™ve seen for some time) and utterly ruthless in attack.

Rams 7 and 18 had excellent games, very good line breaking ball carriers.

The referee was excellent.

No disgrace for Sedge this was always going to be a measuring stick and it was and we are certainly on the right curve.

As stated previously Iโ€™m really impressed with Rams. Well done fellas have a safe journey home and a great night

All the best

Seems to me that National One will be an exciting league - perhaps the Championship will be easier - subject to RFU shenanigans!

My pleasure Jester 10. A very good win on the road for Rams. A highly competent and professional performance. I bet that is a very noisy coach on the way home. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Well done fellas see you later in the season.

Nat 1 really is a great league. I know it's all been said before about any team being able to beat another on their day, but it is true and there were some cracking games today with what I would say were slightly unexpected results, let's hope it continues. It'll certainly make the predictions a tricky task each week!

A report on the Chinnor vs Sale game today. The first half wasn't great, with the referee's whistle perhaps being the man of the half.....

However, once Chinnor scored their third try they seems to relax and fully deserved their bonus point win, and can point to a clean sheet for their defensive work

Sale probably need the World Cup to finish soon !

Hopefully see you in the return fixture in January !

Thatโ€™s a shame. I think we briefly did catch up with each other on that blistering hot day at Chinnor for the playoff game. I spent most of that game with the Cinderford contingent who also travelled to watch the game.

I look forward to seeing you guys next week and catching up later with you  in the season.

It was a very well contested and entertaining game with a thrilling finale.

Cinderford had done very well to come back from a 20-6 deficit to square the scores and had a chance to take all four points when, with the game tied at 20-20, they had a 45 m penalty kick.

It drifted just wide and, rather than kick the ball dead, Mowden attached from their in goal area and quickly went the length of the field to score a try at the other end to take the win.

There is a video with highlights of the scoring plays on the https://www.mowdenpark.com/videos/highlights--dmp-v-cinderford-193313.html" rel="nofollow - Mowden Park website  and a https://www.mowdenpark.com/news/mowden-park-2520-cinderford-2804549.html" rel="nofollow - match report with more details.

Fatbear, your opening paragraph made me think back to my first senior game of rugby in the early 80s. A footballing (hopefully this doesn't jeopardise my membership) PE student at Chester, I was signed up in the bar on a Friday, 5 minutes before closing time, to play a Sale XV away. I remember their two props being driven to the side of the pitch in a Land Rover to preserve their energy...they were like Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy. In the bar afterwards I stood next to Fran Cotton and was served by Steve Smith. My rugby career had peaked on day 1, although I did later share a bath with Dusty Hare and Les Cusworth at Waterloo and witnessed an eclipse caused by Bob Kimmins entering the bar ar Orrell. .

i wonder when the Sale FC take over was Fatbbear.
sale FC is an independent members club and are a separate identity to Sale Sharks.
