Pirates vs. Bedford 1430 - 5-2 - Suspect a lot of free flowing rugby here.
Hartpury vs. Ealing 1430 - 0 - 5 - If Ealing don't pull a 0-5 with this team, then I'll be concerned.
Scottish vs. Jersey Cancelled - MIss the cowbells
Nottingham vs. Ampthill 1500 - 5-0 I suspect NOttingham will be off to a flying start again this season, let's see if they can sustain.
Cambridge vs. Donny 1500 - 1-5 Cambridge to be game at home, but not able to overcome professionals
Coventry vs. Caldy 1600 - 5-0 Cov look very strong so far.

Coventry Rugby: James; Hutler, Wand, Titherington, Martin; Mitchell, Chudley; Chilvers, Poole, Salt; Nkwocha, Smith; Ryan, Kvesic, Bartlett.

Replacements: Ma’asi, Cordwell, Nicol, Anstey, Ball, Lane, Rigg, Pellegrini

No Nayalo or Tyas. No idea why, but slightly surprised by their omissions.

Titherington starting against his old club.

World Cup man Pellegrini on the bench.

Pirates 5-2 Bedford. An incredibly close encounter on paper.
Hartpury 0-5 Ealing. With Jersey gone I continue to go with my last season trend of forecasting a 5-0 win for Ealing in every game.
Nottingham 1-4 Ampthill. Another close encounter on paper. It's a pity though that Theo Dan is not available for Ampthill today.
Cambridge 1-4 Doncaster. The Knights to slog out a close victory.
Coventry 5-0 Caldy. I believe Coventry to be the greatest threat to Ealing.

Given the weather forecast in Penzance, can’t see Bedford getting the win today. Will be a slugfest and Bedford rarely win these away from home

Hmmm...Theo Dan...where did I see him. Certainly not playing for England last night, as the RFU assures me that the Champ is not a development path

Predictions:
Cornish Pirates 4 - 1 Bedford - Bedford I think are the better side but the weather forecast makes me lean towards Pirates.
Hartpury 0 - 5 Ealing - Competitive for 40 minutes then Ealing to cruise home.
Nottingham 4 - 1 Ampthill - Nothing between these teams but just favour Nottingham because they are at home.
Cambridge 1 - 4 Doncaster - Cambridge will be up for it and they gave us far more of a game than the score suggested in the cup match a few weeks ago. Donny to edge it.
Coventry 5 - 0 Caldy - Cov far too strong for most at home this season I suspect.

Ht Pirates 3-7 Bedford

Probably the most one sided 7-3 I can remember seeing. Hope we don’t rue all of the missed chances at the end of the game. Blues have strong wind advantage 2nd half, although Pirates actually kicked it dead a couple of times so still not easy to manage it.

Similar story to first half, but as predicted first time pirates have been anywhere near our 22 they score. Can see where this game will end up…

Hartpury 28 (BP) - Ealing 36 (BP) 76' - Going down to the wire as every time Ealing looks like it will pull away, Ealing defense goes to sleep and lets Hartpury score.

That's the full time score, but it was actually 3 tries, three penalties, and two conversions, so no BP for Hartpury, 0-5.

Pirates 18-20 Blues

Mad last 15 minutes. Pirates had chance to draw level but the better team one. Blues need to much more clinical (although also credit Pirates for some great goal line defence)

Very good effort form the Hartpury lads today. Stayed in touch & scored a couple of good tries. IMO Ealing looked very ordinary for long periods of the game today.

Watched Blues on Pirates TV and that was a pretty dominant performance from the Blues but some how we just won! Pirates defence was good and I thought Adamson scored in the corner. I also would have liked us to take the 3 points at the end of the match.

The Knights were pretty sublime today, the first half was as good as it gets. Cambridge did better in the second half but we still showed some pure class. Cambridge have a lovely ground, some improvement required if they remain up in the championship in two years time, but a good flat surface and great clubhouse.

Notts played really well today. Kudos to Ampthill- they never stopped fighting (literally in some cases…)

FT was Nottingham 41 (BP) Ampthill 28 (also BP)
