I am hopeful that ours isn’t although it has dropped below freezing all week only -3 or -4 the days have been sunny and just above freezing and with our frost sheets I feel positive for a game on.

Ampthill 5 - 2 Ealing - I’m going for an upset. The As were very good last week, deservedly beating and outplaying Donny for the majority of the game. If Ealing are slightly off it they could easily get beat here.
Caldy 4 - 1 Hartpury - Genuinely don’t know about this one, giving it to the home team.
Cornish Pirates 5 - 1 Nottingham - Having not played for a few weeks I think Nottingham could be rusty - Pirates too strong.
Doncaster 2 - 5 Bedford - This could be any result. I half-expect us to win this because we have a great record against Bedford at Castle Park - I can’t remember the exact year they last won up here but I know it’s over a decade ago. However, current form does point towards the Blues winning this. If the Knights turn in a similar performance to last week it will be a long afternoon.
London Scottish 1 - 5 Coventry - Coventry should have enough but there again they’ve lost a couple of games that you would have expected them to win already this season - and Scottish can put it up to anyone if they have a decent contingent from Quins - just ask Ealing. Interesting to see what happens.

Not without a nearly miraculous comeback from the Blues at the end. 26-10 down with under 10 minutes to play and they were within a better bounce of a ball of getting the victory - although in truth for most of the game the Knights were clearly the better side and should have put it to bed way before the end. However, taking your eye off the ball against Bedford in any game is risky, and Donny almost paid the price.

I was at Pirates-Nottingham yesterday and I have to say the hospitality was magnificent. Met some lovely Pirates fans and the ground staff were really helpful and friendly too. Only issue was being grabbed by an intoxicated man at the gates of the ground while  waiting for a taxi, as a lone female on crutches that wasn’t terribly pleasant. Think some had been enjoying the hospitality a little bit too much…
Lovely experience, shame about the result. Whilst Pirates undoubtedly were the better team, they were extremely physical and there were a worrying amount of injuries, especially to our second and back row. No league game next week but we do have a friendly against the Army. Hopefully we’ll have a team to field…

News from Donny regarding Tom Doughty

As many of you saw yesterday at Castle Park, #2 𝐓𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐲 had to be stretchered off the field within the first 2 minutes of the game against Bedford Blues.

After careful examination by doctors, Tom is doing well and will be back within the Doncaster Knights camp over the next few days.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out and asked about Tom’s health, and we as a club are more than delighted to announce that he’s safe and well and will be rugby ready In no time 🏉❤️

It is definitely an area in which they have strengthened- which will likely mean they will score even more tries! Good for them, not so good for us 😉

They only have one more try bonus than Donny though, and three fewer than Cov - so perhaps they need to strengthen their suite?

They have certainly improved in that area - we were surprised at how strong the Bedford forwards were when they did a proper job on us at The Mennaye.

No, only about half the tries are good tries, the rest are scored by the opposition.

Nice to see a rolling maul now and again, running in tries from your own half can get a bit monotonous. 😜
