I don't know what has happened tot he usual threads, but I need to make some predictions
Ealing Trailfinders vs Jersey - 5-0 Ealing on good form and playing on the fast track, I see a lot of points. Newcastle Falcons vs London Scottish - 5-0 Newcastle imperious at home. Cornish Pirates vs Coventry 5- 1- Pirates probably stinging from their last run out, and will be looking to prove a point in feont of their home fans. |

4 Home wins seems inked in.
The best contest should be Notts & Donny and if its a decent evening at Lady Bay I'd love to see that one. On present form Ealing could beat Jersey by 50 points but I'm going to this one so I hope the visitors can keep a lid on it until they bring the reinforcements on in the second half. Falcons could put a big score up against Scottish who should just enjoy the experience. Pirates should win by 15 points against Cov who struggle away from BPA but any visiting fans should try the Dock Inn on the weighbridge which is brilliant. Have a great weekend all. |

It wasn’t the greatest game of rugby - howling gale, heavy pitch. Yellow cards for both sides for one of several ‘handbags’ sessions and another one in the second half as frustrations boiled over again, this time just for Donny.
I don’t think Donny ever looked like scoring. Two good tries for Nottingham in the second half. Donny may be glad to be out of the Cup, and even though they won’t go down this season, the team looks ready for changes.

personally, I think that's a shame that we're out of the cup. it provided a welcome distraction from the grunt and grind of the league season.

Currently Ealing 10 - Jersey 5 at 33 mins. Very sloppy from Ealing, but into the wind. Sir dominating proceedings with huge penalty count. Fairly even though.

Same score at the half. Massively incorrect penalty at the end of the half as an Ealing rolling maul was charging forward. Had a great angle,, clearly pulled down. Oh well, have the wind in the second half.

A couple of real gift tries given away by Jersey but loads of effort and certainly no shame in losing to a really good Ealing team - with a shed load of quality on the bench and even more quality squad members who didn't make the match day squad watching from the stand. Ealing have the players and coaches to match Falcons and on their day could easily beat them. Great hospitality as always from a proper rugby club which I always enjoy visiting and if the red wine I acquired from an old mate survives the journey back in the team kit bag I will do it justice next week-end when I hope Jersey give Falcons a decent game.

It was a good game. First half defences dominated but second period was a try fest!
