Thank you. That is very helpful. I only assumed because when I travelled to Jersey with my club all those years ago when the Reds were at this level, we used British Airways so I thought Gatwick was considered the "base" which would have been transferred to Heathrow when they moved the flights. I think it would make sense then for you to be in SC given Marlborough are staying up and I can't imagine they'll try to force you up to Oundle and Northampton in SE or down to Cornwall in SW. I hope Jersey have a good season next year and I hope we're in the same league.

I am under the belief that a few clubs have withdrawn from the top tier cup league in last couple weeks - is this true and would they face any punishment for doing it so last minute

If its anything like last year, they just get a points deduction in the cup and get told that they won't progress to the semi-finals. Its toothless. I recall back in the old Intermediate Cup that if you entered then pulled out then you were banned from entering the next year. It hurts to see this because I thought the cup was a really great concept but the RFU have just butchered the execution so badly.

Horsham wanted it more and were the better team on the day we were all expecting a massive score from us but we just didn't turn up ! Maybe it was a case of the job was already done and all we had to do was lace our boots up to win but Horsham definitely had other ideas on that and the talk fom their fans was that win kept them up in the re shuffle because a team in Yorkshire had lost?!! So fair play to them if that's true The double decker bus on the way back was absolutely rocking and the celebrations carried on till the early hours, a few sore heads today I reckon What a superb season our boys have had to end up top of the pile is absolutely brilliant so I think I'll let them off for that blip yesterday! |

A quick glance suggests Horsham (35pts) have best record of all the 11th-placed sides at Regional 1 level, beating Doncaster (32 in NE), Sandbach (30 in NW), Rochford 100 (29 in SE), Halesowen (18 in Mids) and Okehamp[ton (26 in SW) and therefore might be the team earning the reprieve. Fair play to them if Saturday's win did clinch it, as seems to be the case. But nothing official yet...

That's really going to put the cat amongst the pidgeons when it comes to redrawing the leagues then! Would that mean Marlborough heading to SW? Well done to Horsham for pulling it out of the bag if this is so. They seem to be sure they have survived. Match Report: Horsham 21 - 19 Havant : 1st XV - Men (horshamrufc.com)

I think a lot depends on whether Wimbledon can survive relegation on the same basis. They're currently level on points with the 13th placed side in N2N - and it's 13th v 12th in N2E this week and 13th v 14th in N2N in the final round.

It's ridiculously tight in the N2 battle:
I'd say the northern side stand to get more points over last two games, but very open. Weird scheduling that the national league have a gap weekend (on 20/4) just one round b4 the end of the season... |

I think the idea of the gap on the 20th is to try and ensure that teams finish their league season on the same day,

Correct! Esher are playing Guernsey catching up on a previously-cancelled fixture. That ensures that all N2E teams end on 27th April.

Wimbledon won and got 5 points, Hull lost but got a try bonus. Still too close to call I think. Its just annoying they have that gap week.

It gets even more interesting now, because Billingham are in 12th place in N2N, four points clear of Hull Ionians. But they have the same number of points as Wimbledon, and their points difference is nine better. Ionians face the bottom team on the final day, whereas Billingham entertain Rotherham who, after Leeds' shock defeat today, could be promoted. So (bear with me...) if Ionians pick up five points, Billingham need to either better Wimbledon's result v Dorking or ensure that their losing margin is no more than nine points worse than Wimbledon's losing margin.
At least, I think that's right...

What a game at the lane yesterday in the Papa johns cup
We managed another last minute win 45-42 against a very good Camberley side who looked to have nicked it with a try in the dying minutes but from the restart "Wes" turned over possession and player of the season "Sheps" emerged from another rolling maul to dot down for the winner and it was Limbs in the crowd Also in the crowd was Adam Bowman Sevenoaks DOR ..just passing by apparantly Good to chat with him and spill his beer when i grabbed him celebrating the winning try🍻 Also a lone Oxford Quins fella was spotted taking notes for a possible semi final game at their place if they can overcome Barnstaple in their quarter final game. The fun continues in two weeks time

Well, looks like Wimbledon are down so that'll cause a headache for those redrawing the leagues for next season
